A leading Waste, recycling and aggregates services specialists operating across the UK.  

Purpose and Responsibilities

An exciting opportunity for a Sales Professional from the Waste and Recycling Sector has arisen within our clients leading Waste and Recycling Company. Our client is looking to take on a Business Development Manager to join their team based in Bristol. Reporting directly to the Sales Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for securing new business with commercial clients and maintaining existing accounts through offering solutions for trade, recyclable and commercial waste.

Specific Responsibilities

  • To research and identify potential customers to promote the services of the Waste Collection Division.
  • Achieve quarterly and annual targets as agreed with the Commercial Sales Manager
  • Undertake daily communication with Commercial Sales Manager to establish sales requirements, maintain the service delivery and required profitability.
  • To work closely with the Commercial team to gain maximum advantage in the market for the full range of services offered by the Company.
  • To be aware of all forthcoming projects and/or contracts requiring waste collection services in your area.
  • To develop and maintain a strong pipeline of sales prospects for conversion into gains.
  • To prepare weekly sales reports as instructed by the Commercial Sales Manager 

Person Specification

You’ll also have:

  • Field sales experience with a proven track record of achieving targets
  • Excellent communication &  interpersonal skills
  • Strong negotiation and influential skills
  • Target driven, the ability to “close” a sale
  • Good local geographical knowledge
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft packages

Required experience:

  • Business to Business Field Sales: 3 years
  • Experience in the Waste & Recycling Sector: 2 Years

Required licence or certification:

  • A full, clean UK Driving Licence
