The Client

A Leading Waste Management and Recycling Services Supplier operating across Scotland.


Purpose and Responsibilities

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Business Development Manager to join our clients leading Waste Management and Recycling Company. As Business Development Manager you will be responsible for developing business on the skip hire and waste collection services. As well as business development you will also be responsible for account managing a number of existing customer accounts.

Specific responsibilities

  • Obtain new business for the company by finding new opportunities
  • Service the skip hire needs of existing customers, liaising with builders and brokers.  Visit existing customers and make sure they are happy with the service they receive.
  • Look out for our competitors skips at building sites and industrial estates etc and see if we can quote the potential customer.
  • Service the administration needs of new and existing customers
  • Visit customers on a regular basis
  • Provide competitive, cost effective but realistic quotes for customers


Person Specification

You’ll also have:

  • Business Development experience within the Waste Industry, Construction Or Plant Hire will be advantageous
  • An excellent attitude and willingness to learn and expand knowledge.
  • Be highly motivated and driven
  • Have outstanding people skills
  • Be able to generate new leads
  • Have a full UK Driving License

Required experience:

  • Business to Business Field Sales: 3 years minimum
  • Waste Management and Recycling Sector Experience: 1 year minimum

Required licence or certification:

  • A full, clean UK Driving Licence
