A leading Waste and Resource Management Supplier operating across the UK.

 

Purpose and Responsibilities

Ace Recruitment are currently searching for 2 experienced Business Manager’s to join our clients leading waste management company. We are looking for the Business Managers to work from either the West Country Depot (Locking Area) OR the West Midlands Depot (Royal Leamington). As Business Manager you will be primarily responsible for the operation of staff and resources employed on the Contract, ensuring the company and client are satisfied whilst remaining within the constraints of financial targets and Company procedures.

 

Specific Responsibilities

  • Ensure all budgets are achieved and weekly Key Performance Indicators are met highlighting any variances and action plans to redress.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures and legal obligations
  • Continually monitor and improve performance standards
  • Establish the Company model for the reporting and operation of a contract on a subcontractor basis.
  • Manage all contract staff through use of supervisors and worker committees etc to ensure that all company procedures are followed, staff turnover is controlled, vacancies are filled promptly and unauthorised absence is kept to a minimum
  • Ensure the health and safety of all company employees and site visitors under your control by following the company procedures
  • Be responsible for Recruitment and training of staff and minimise the use of agency staff employed on the Contract
  • To be directly responsible for the management of the workshop and measurement of KPIs to ensure maximum vehicle uptime and availability.
  • Maintain all records and systems for the effective operation of the contract and the Company’s ISO and OHSAS certificates.
  • Management of service changes and subsequent smooth running of the Contract to the Client’s satisfaction.
  • Ensure that proposals for contract improvements, route optimisation, staffing structures etc are directed through the appropriate channels, cost / benefit analyses are produced for the Board & that they run to budget & timescale on implementation
  • Responsible for internal and external reporting of contract KPIs

 

Person Specification

You’ll also have:

  • Experience in one of the following positions: Depot Manager, Business Manager, Operations Manager
  • Experience within the Waste Management, Resource Management or Recycling Industry
  • Establish and develop positive business and customer relationships
  • Highly motivated and driven.
  • Financial Acumen

Required experience:

  • HWRC Operations & Budget Experience: 2 Years
  • Working in the Waste Management Sector: 2 years
  • Depot Management Experience: 2 Years

Required licence or certification:

  • CPC
  • IOSH/NEBOSH
  • HGV2
  • A full, clean UK Driving Licence
