A leading Hazardous Waste Management and Environmental Company, operating across the UK.


Purpose and Responsibilities

Due to expansion our client is looking for a Corporate Business Development Manager to join their hazardous waste team. As Business Development Manager you will be responsible for obtaining new business with corporate/top end accounts for the hazardous waste department. You will help maintain, expand and develop the company presence across the UK with key figures and organisations in specifying sectors and selected markets. We are looking for a Business Development Manager to not only keep up with market trends but act upon and keep up to date with competitor activity and intelligence, therefore keeping our clients company at the forefront of the market.

Major responsibilities may include:

  • Development and execution of the relevant business plan to deliver key financial objectives.
  • Apply understanding of competitive brands, products, strategies, positioning, trends, etc. in order to maximize opportunities and market share for the company.
  • Responsible for the growth and business development across designated new sectors.
  • Responsible for maintaining a high level of customer service to enable the company to sustain its overall performance, development and growth.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with all key customers.
  • Catalyst for ambitious and realistic growth plans, as such the successful candidate will be a proven business development professional with a track record in new business and growth.
  • Identifying opportunities/managing numbers/budgets/pro-activity reacting to KPI outcomes and developing solutions to achieve targets.
  • Preparing reports, undertaking presentations, managing time and workload in a demanding, growing business.
  • Aptitude for engaging with customers and identify sales opportunities.


Essential Experiences

  • A Proven successful background as a Sales Professional specifically New Business Development.
  • Experience as a Sales Professional in the Waste Management and Recycling Sector, Specifically Hazardous Waste.
  • Background in winning and retaining new business and ability to influence at a senior level
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Significant achievements in business and account relationship management in new and established markets
  • Proficient in use of MS PowerPoint, Word & Excel
  • High level numeracy with strong analytical skills
  • Strong presenter in all small / large / informal / formal group situations
  • Ability to prioritise effectively and possesses good time management
  • Attention to detail and follow through
  • Ability to demonstrate a pro-active attitude and flexible approach
  • Full UK Driving License is Essential
  • Flexibility to travel both inside and outside of the UK.
