Maintenance Planning Manager

South East London, Permanent, 50K - Negotiable on Experience

The Client
A leading Energy from Waste Supplier operating across the UK.

Purpose and Responsibilities
To plan, schedule and co-ordinate all maintenance (planned and corrective) across all sites (7) to ensure that best practice, availability, reliability, efficiency and safety are maximised in all maintenance activities.

Specific Responsibilities

  • To build on and where required introduce, develop and manage maintenance planning systems and procedures.
  • Implement preventative & predictive maintenance programs.
  • To ensure all planned preventative maintenance is scheduled and planned to defined timetables and business priorities.
  • To assist in the planning, development and management of budgeted annual maintenance plans.
  • To ensure that the CMMS software data files are complete and current.
  • To ensure that all maintenance is completed within manufacturer’s recommended timescales, defined maintenance strategies or statutory instrument legal requirements.
  • To integrate and share best practice in maintenance across all sites.
  • To coordinate activities between local operations and maintenance teams to ensure optimum performance and minimum down time.
  • To establish and report against key KPIs (lost time / planned v corrective maintenance etc).
  • To ensure that the Group has an integrated maintenance plan and the capability with internal and external resources to deliver it.
  • To ensure that the stores and critical supplies are kept under constant review and at appropriate levels.
  • To ensure that all maintenance work planned is aligned with the Group’s environmental and safety policies.
  • Assist with purchasing functions within the CMMS.
  • Identifies equipment maintenance problems and equipment failure frequency rates.

Person Specification

  • A good, working knowledge of the Waste Industry, specifically energy from Waste.
  • Acquainted with one or more Project Planning software packages.
  • Experience in setting up and operating effective maintenance management systems
  • Excellent Communication; written and spoken
  • The ability to effectively manage a team.

Required experience:

  • Experience as Engineer: 5 years Min
  • Waste Management, Heavy Industry OR Energy From Waste Experience: 3 Years Min

Required licence or certification:

  • HNC Level Qualification – Engineering Discipline
  • UK Driving License
