Our Client

A Leading Waste and Resource Management Services Supplier operating throughout the South West.

Purpose and Responsibilities

Our client is looking for an experienced Operations Manager to join their company based in Bristol. As Operations Manager you will be responsible for the safe and efficient management of multiple transfer stations and HWRC’s. Your main objective will be to ensure that all materials are processed/disposed of in a safe and efficient manner. 

Duties also include:

  • Leading health and safety culture across the organisation, contributing to a positive and safe working environment for all processing staff.
  • Production of a high quality Recycled product meeting UK and international export quality standards
  • Regularly reviewing Site performance, including action plans which have been prepared to meet the company requirements
  • Monitor the cleansing and maintenance schedules of both mobile and fixed plant sites.
  • Responsible for planning, managing and monitoring employee resources to ensure service delivery meets business objectives and performance targets.
  • Continuously drive best practice to ensure continuous improvement upon performance and productivity.
  • Ensuring a business plan and budget is prepared by each depot to the required standard and timescale
  • Maximising production and profitability from all sites commensurate with agreed volumes.

Person Specification

You’ll also have:

  • Demonstrated background in Waste Management, Recycling or Production
  • Strong understanding of Lean processes in production, supply chain and customers
  • Strong understanding and ability to ensure standards and processes of Quality Health, Safety and Environment are upheld
  • Ability to effectively lead and manage a team
  • Proven track record in financial management
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • Waste Management, Recycling Sector Experience: 3 years
  • Operations/Business/Depot Management Experience: 3 Years Minimum
  • IOSH: Essential
  • COTC Level 4: Essential
  • Driving Licence: Required
