A Leading Waste and Recycling Company.

Purpose and Responsibilities

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Project Manager looking to take the next step up in their career. The successful candidate will ensure that new and existing site development, improvement and refurbishment projects are fully scoped, planned and resourced and that the costs are fully budgeted against a clear business case. Also to ensure that opportunities and risks are clearly identified and actively managed to ensure that the projects are delivered compliantly, on time and within budget with full benefit realisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • To interpret and deliver on the company’s strategic Project Management objectives by regular consultation with UK Management.
  • Take overall accountability for delivery of the project, collaborating with senior operational management to define and scope the project and expected benefits.
  • Working with site management throughout project timeline through to successful handover.
  • Overall accountability for delivery for the project working with site management through to successful handover to the site management.
  • Prepare detailed critical path plans, stages and timelines.
  • Develop Responsibility Assignment Matrices for each project to manage and formalise stakeholder engagement, involvement and expectation through each stage of the project.
  • Engagement of all stakeholders in all aspects of change required to deliver a successful outcome.
  • Manage risks and define solutions to mitigate, including approach to design, procurement and contractor management which are appropriate to the scale and complexity of each project.
  • Manage business teams, internal deliverables and external suppliers (including consultants, contractors and material suppliers) to achieve desired project outcomes.
  • Provide progress reports to UK Management.
  • To ensure full suite of drawings, plans and permissions of all structures and services are provided to site management and Property Department.
  • To ensure instruction and training guides are produced via L&D Department as necessary.

Person Specification

You’ll also have:

  • Cost control and managing budgets.
  • Experience in managing multiple contractors including engineering and civil contractors.
  • Experience in construction including concrete and utilities.
  • Previous accountability for leading infrastructure / engineering change projects.
  • Experience in installing large capital plant.
  • Experience of process re-engineering.
  • MS Word, Excel PowerPoint and project management tools.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • Project Management Experience: 3 years Minimum
  • Quantity Surveying Experience
  • IOSH – Essential
  • SHE Management Experience
