The Client

A leading UK Waste Management, Recycling and Facilities Management Company.

Purpose and Responsibilities

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Supply Chain Professional from the Waste Management/FM Sector to join our clients leading Waste Management Company. In this position you will be responsible for managing the procurement of assets and services for one of our client’s major clients. As Supply Chain Manager you will also undertake procurement reviews on a regular basis to ensure good value is being achieved along with building and maintaining supplier relationships to enhance the range of services offered to its customers. In this position you will be required to work from the office 3-4 days a week working the rest of the week from home and visiting clients as and when needed.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Create and enforce procurement strategy
  • Manage the clients supply chain ensure regular KPI meeting are held
  • Ensure operational and commercially data provision and customer service is to the highest standards
  • Weekly reporting on performance of the supplier, liaising with the client and identifying issues
  • Support the Account Director in producing the monthly customer KPI report by providing accurate, timely and relevant information
  • Establish excellent working relationships within the company to assist with best practise
  • Monitor market trends within the industry
  • Manage and develop the Supply Chain Support engaging in reviews and development programmes
  • Accountable for ensuring the delivery of zero waste to landfill on behalf of the client by working with the supply chain
  • Audit procurement files to ensure these are kept in line with business needs
  • Ensure compliance checks are completed for all potential suppliers
  • Negotiate costs with external suppliers encompassing savings for the business
  • Support the Compliance/Plan A Manager to ensure that Plan A ethics are cascaded down through the service providers
  • To Provide accurate monthly reports as directed by the Account Director or the client and support with the monthly KPI meetings
  • Grown organic supply chain via networking and other relevant channels
  • To support the Trading Director in achievement of the accreditations including company HSQE

Person Specification

  • Previous experience in dealing with managing and delivering projects to deadlines
  • Experience of working with third party agencies
  • Experience of accessing and using secondary data in research.
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Excellent communications and inter-personal skills
  • Competent office IT skills (such as MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint)

Required Experience

  • Proven Supply Chain Management Experience: 3 Years
  • Experience working a similar role within the Waste OR Facilities Management Sector: 3 Years
