Training & Assessment Officer

South East, Permanent, £30-35K Dependent on experience

The Role

 

To be responsible for the delivery and administration of learning and development and for the completion of relevant ESFA documentation including progress reviews.

 

Responsibilities to include but not limited to:

  • Visit learners in the workplace in addition to remote support to support and tutor them in their Apprenticeship standards and frameworks
  • To assess by direct observation of the practice as specified by the evidence requirements and deliver frameworks to the agreed standard.
  • Plan, implement and deliver high quality initial assessments, inductions and reviews of progress with learners
  • Maintaining accurate and verifiable candidate assessment and achievement records as required by the awarding body
  • Complete timely reviews, setting targets for achievement with candidates and supervisors
  • Ensure learner file is kept fully up to date with appropriately filed learner relevant documents
  • Assessors are expected to take part in Learner Recruitment to maintain own caseload
  • Meet Assessor KPI’s in terms of timely visits, quality paperwork and general administration
  • Carry out workplace H&S checks and monitoring visits 
  • Attend standardisation meetings as required by the IQA
  • Update CPD and relevant log as required
  • Undertake all administrative duties involved with the qualifications
  • Participate in monthly 1-2-1s with Performance Manager

 

 

 

Essential Experience/Skills

 

  • Experience of assessing vocational qualifications in the sector subject area 
  • Experience in Environmental Services
  • Relevant occupational qualifications; 
  • Knowledge of the QCF frameworks; 
  • Knowledge/experience of apprenticeship standards
  • IT literate
  • Occupationally competent
  • Experience of delivery of Functional Skills (all applicable)
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • The ability to use own initiative and work independently 
  • Excellent organisation and time management
  • Access to own transport
  • Access to own equipment including laptop and mobile phone

 

Essential Qualifications

 

  • Assessor Qualified, A1, TAQA or D32, D33, CAVA

 

Desirable

 

  • PTTLS or recognised Teaching Qualification
  • Functional Skills in Maths, English and ICT is highly desirable
